چکیده

The effects of CB1 receptor agonist HU-210 and cannabinoid CB1 receptor antagonist SR 141716A on nociception of male Wistar rats with a model of depression (bilateral olfactory bulbectomy, OBX) were studied. HU-210 (5 μg) and SR 141716A (3 μg) were acutely microinjected i.c.v. on the developed depression background. Nociception was examined as applied mechanical pressure on the left hind paw of the rat (analgesy-meter test, Randall & Sellitto). In the OBX rats, it was found that the pain threshold was increased. HU-210 significantly increased the pain threshold in OBX rats, i.e. decreased the pain sensitivity as compared to saline-treated OBX controls and to sham-operated controls, suggesting an implication of CB1 receptors in nociception of OBX rats. SR 141716A did not affect the nociception in OBX rats. These results suggest that stimulation of CB1 receptors in rats with a model of depression exerted antinociceptive effect.

Effect of Cannabinoid Receptor Activation on Spreading Depression

Objective(s) The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of cannabinoid on cortical spreading depression (CSD) in rat brain. Cannabis has been used for centuries for both symptomatic and prophylactic treatment of different types of headaches including migraine. CSD is believed to be a putative neuronal mechanism underlying migraine aura and subsequent pain. Materials and Methods T...

Cannabinoid CB1 Receptors Mediate the Gastroprotective Effect of Neurotensin

Objective(s) Several lines of evidence indicate that neuropeptides exhibit protective properties against gastroduodenal ulcers. Neurotensin, a gut-brain neuropeptide, is implicated in a number of physiological processes in the central nervous system and peripheral tissues including gastrointestinal tract. In the present study, we aimed to investigate the gastroprotective potential of either p...

Elevation of endocannabinoid levels in the ventrolateral periaqueductal grey through inhibition of fatty acid amide hydrolase affects descending nociceptive pathways via both cannabinoid receptor type 1 and transient receptor potential vanilloid type-1 receptors.

In the ventrolateral periaqueductal gray (PAG), activation of excitatory output neurons projecting monosynaptically to OFF cells in the rostral ventromedial medulla (RVM) causes antinociceptive responses and is under the control of cannabinoid receptor type-1 (CB1) and vanilloid transient receptor potential vanilloid type 1 (TRPV1) receptors. We studied in healthy rats the effect of elevation o...

نقش گیرنده‌های محیطی گلیسین در اخذ غذای وابسته به گیرنده‌های کانابینوئیدی

Background & Aim: Peripheral cannabinoid and glycine receptors are involved in food intake regulation. This study was conducted to investigate the possible interaction between these two receptors in regulating food intake. Methods: This is an experimental study which was conducted on forty male Wistar rats. In the first phase of the experiment, the rats simultaneously received intraperitonea...

Inhibition of inflammatory hyperalgesia by activation of peripheral CB2 cannabinoid receptors.

BACKGROUND Cannabinoid receptor agonists inhibit inflammatory hyperalgesia in animal models. Nonselective cannabinoid receptor agonists also produce central nervous system (CNS) side effects. Agonists selective for CB2 cannabinoid receptors, which are not found in the CNS, do not produce the CNS effects typical of nonselective cannabinoid receptor agonists but do inhibit acute nociception. The ...
